Unboxing: The Cruel Prince (Illumicrate Collections)

This is honestly the best box I’ve spent my money on.

I started collecting special editions of books last year and now I can’t seem to stop. So when I saw that Illumicrate was releasing a special edition box of The Cruel Prince, I was curious. I admit that at the time, I heard of The Folk of the Air series but I haven’t read it yet. Seeing the announcement made me bump it to the top of my reading list. Even before reading it, I could tell that I would love it and I was absolutely right. It is definitely my most favorite series now. So, really, it was all thanks to this box.

Review: The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3)

I don’t even know how to begin this review. I feel like whatever I say, I wouldn’t be able to give justice to how perfect this book (and the whole series) is.

I was really nervous about this. Considering how good the first two books were, my expectations for The Queen of Nothing were sky-high. And I’ve read enough to know that it’s easier to get let down. Waiting for this book was a mixture of dread and excitement.

Review: The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air #2)

There are books so good that keep you up at night long after you’ve read them. The Wicked King is one. It’s official. Holly Black is one of my fave authors now.

I went into this feeling confident that I would be able to guess even just a little of what would happen. Because yes, I accidentally read some spoilers — a few lines here and there. But apparently, it still wasn’t enough. I could never guess the way Holly Black is thinking and I admire her so much for it.

This series is like wine and it’s intoxicating. I want to drink every page over and over again.

Review: The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1)

Wow, just wow.

I‘ve been curious about this series for a while. The fandom is very much alive to speak of its greatness. But when everyone told me this would be good, I didn’t let it get to my head. No way am I setting myself up for disappointment. So believe me when I say that I was truly blown away.

I have to be honest with you. I read this for the angst, for the OTP that everyone can’t seem to stop talking about. I went into this thinking it would be mainly about the romance — of the push and pull between them — with a sprinkle of Faerie story in between. But this book offered so much more and nothing could have prepared me for it.
