Buying a Kindle on Amazon from the Philippines

Hello, my fellow e-book lovers!

My new Kindle Paperwhite 4 just arrived a few days ago and I thought I would share my experience on buying it. My previous one, Kindle Paperwhite 3, broke down during quarantine.

Since I live in the Philippines, Amazon is not easily accessible so I am hoping this post will help my fellow Filipino readers who are thinking of buying one. There are a few shops in Lazada (like Juan Gadget) that people swear are legit but during the time I was looking for it, there were no stocks available. Fortunately, when I checked on Amazon, the Kindle Paperwhite was on sale from $149.99 to $119.99. I paid $27.26 for the shipping fee for a total of $147.25 or approximately 7,300 PHP.

Unboxing: The Cruel Prince (Illumicrate Collections)

This is honestly the best box I’ve spent my money on.

I started collecting special editions of books last year and now I can’t seem to stop. So when I saw that Illumicrate was releasing a special edition box of The Cruel Prince, I was curious. I admit that at the time, I heard of The Folk of the Air series but I haven’t read it yet. Seeing the announcement made me bump it to the top of my reading list. Even before reading it, I could tell that I would love it and I was absolutely right. It is definitely my most favorite series now. So, really, it was all thanks to this box.

Big Bad Wolf 2019: Book Haul and Tips

Okay, anyone who doesn’t know what it is might find the title a little bit weird so let me do a quick introduction.

Big Bad Wolf Books is a Malaysian book fair frequently held in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. They first went to the Philippines last year but since I was staying in Japan at the time, I wasn’t able to go (and yes, I am a Filipino blogger). The books were taken from the stocks of BookXcess, a book store dealing in excess books from international distributors. So everything is really cheap. Basically a book lover’s heaven.

Unboxing: October 2018 Owlcrate

Hello everyone!

Okay, I know it is already November and this is a month late but hey, better late than never, right?

So, I ordered my first ever Owlcrate box. I was having second thoughts on subscribing because although I think it’s good, the shipping fee is expensive. But when I saw the hint that it will contain not just one but TWO books, I gave in. Especially when I already read an advanced copy of one of the books — which I absolutely loved — so I was planning on buying it anyway.
