This was absolutely beautiful.
After reading the blurb, I expected a typical story full of drama but it was so much more than what I imagined. For me, Robin Benway has managed to turn an ordinary story into something extraordinary.
What I loved most about this book is that I understood how all the characters felt. I understood why they did what they did, even Oliver’s father. The book was like a friend telling me all their problems and I feel for them so much that I want to hug them and say, “It’s okay. I understand. I am here.”
“Sometimes there just aren’t enough words to fill the cracks in your heart.”
This is as contemporary as contemporary could get. The characters and events were very realistic to me. Robin has created three-dimensional characters that everyone can relate to.
Last but not the least and definitely my favorite part, the romance was so cute! Emmy and Oliver are now one of my favorite book couples.
“It was funny, I never cared about those things with Oliver. I didn’t worry about how I looked. All that mattered was how I felt.”
This was a story about friendship, family, freedom, and being brave. I almost didn’t want this to end. But as Oliver said in the book,
“Not goodbye. Just see you later.”
Well, I guess in this case, to me it’s, “Not goodbye. Just read you again later.” 😉
